What You Will Need

Firstly, you need to make sure that your laptop meets the minimum system requirements to run the Valve Index. These requirements include:

  • Windows 10 operating system (64-bit)

You will also need a USB 3.0 port, a DisplayPort 1.2 and an HDMI port.

The Steps to Connect Your Valve Index to Your Laptop

Once you have confirmed that your laptop meets these requirements, it’s time to connect your Valve Index. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Connect the Base Stations

Connect the base stations to a power source and place them diagonally opposite each other in your play area. Make sure they are at least six feet high and angled downwards at approximately 45 degrees.

Step 2: Connect Your Laptop to Power Source

Make sure your laptop is connected to a power source before connecting the Valve Index.

Step 3: Connect Your Laptop to the DisplayPort and USB Ports on the Valve Index Headset

Connect one end of the DisplayPort cable provided with your Valve Index headset into the DisplayPort port on the headset. Then, plug in one end of the USB cable into the USB port on the headset.

The other end of the DisplayPort cable should be plugged into the DisplayPort port on your laptop. Then connect one end of the HDMI cable to your laptop’s HDMI port.
