Are you running out of space on your Nintendo Switch? Do you want to download games directly to your SD card? In this tutorial, we’ll guide you through the steps to download games from Switch to SD card.

What You’ll Need:

  • Nintendo Switch
  • SD Card (minimum 32GB)
  • Internet Connection

Step 1: Insert Your SD Card

The first step is to insert your SD card into your Nintendo Switch. Turn off your device and locate the microSD card slot on the back of the console. Gently push in until it clicks into place.

Step 2: Format Your SD Card

Once your SD card is inserted, format it by going to System Settings > Data Management > microSD Card > Format. This will ensure that the card is compatible with your Nintendo Switch.

Step 3: Download Games To Your SD Card

To download games directly to your SD card, go to Nintendo eShop and select the game you want to download. Click on “Proceed to Purchase,” and then select “Download.”

You’ll be prompted to choose where you want the game downloaded – either system memory or microSD card. Select “microSD card” and click “Download.”

Some games may require additional space even if they are downloaded onto an SD card. In this case, you may need to delete some games or files from your console’s internal storage.

Step 4: Check Storage Space

To check how much storage space is available on your Nintendo Switch, go to System Settings > Data Management > Manage Software. Here, you can view how much space each game takes up and whether it’s saved on system memory or microSD card.

Step 5: Eject Your SD Card Safely

Before removing your SD card, make sure to eject it safely. Go to System Settings > Data Management > microSD Card > Eject. Once you see the message that it’s safe to remove, you can take out your SD card.

By following these simple steps, you can easily download games directly onto your SD card and free up space on your Nintendo Switch’s internal storage. With a larger storage capacity, you can enjoy more games without worrying about running out of space.
