So you’ve decided to get yourself a Valve Index, one of the best VR headsets on the market. But how do you go about ordering one? It’s actually a pretty straightforward process, but there are a few things to keep in mind.

Step 1: Check Availability

First things first, you need to check if the Valve Index is available in your region. Currently, the Valve Index is available for purchase in the United States, Canada, the European Union, Japan, and Australia/New Zealand. If you’re not located in one of these regions, unfortunately, you won’t be able to order one at this time.

Step 2: Go to the Steam Store

Assuming you’re located in an area where the Valve Index is available, head over to the Steam Store. You can access it through your web browser or through the Steam desktop app.

Step 3: Choose Your Package

Once you’re on the Steam Store page for the Valve Index, you’ll see that there are a few different packages available. The base package includes just the headset itself for $499. If you want controllers as well as base stations (which are necessary for full room-scale VR), you’ll want to go with either the $749 package or $999 package depending on if you want one or two controllers.

Step 4: Add to Cart

Once you’ve chosen your package and confirmed that it’s available in your region, click “Add to Cart”. You’ll then be taken to your shopping cart where you can review your order.

Note:

If there’s high demand for the Valve Index (which is often the case), it may be listed as “Backordered” instead of “Add to Cart”. In this case, click “Backorder” and follow any additional instructions to secure your place in line.

Step 5: Checkout

Assuming everything looks good in your shopping cart, click “Purchase for myself” or “Purchase as a gift” (depending on who the headset is for) and follow the checkout process. You’ll need to have a valid payment method on file with Steam.

Note:

If you’re purchasing the Valve Index in monthly installments, you’ll need to go through a separate application process with Steam. This usually involves a credit check and may require additional information.

Step 6: Wait for Shipping Confirmation

After you’ve completed your order, all that’s left to do is wait for shipping confirmation from Valve. This can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on demand and availability. Once your headset ships, you’ll receive a tracking number so you can keep an eye on its progress.

In Conclusion

Ordering a Valve Index may seem like a daunting task, but it’s really not that complicated. Just make sure it’s available in your region, choose the package that’s right for you, check out, and wait patiently for shipping confirmation. Before you know it, you’ll be experiencing VR like never before!
