What is the Valve Index Camera?

The Valve Index Camera is a built-in camera on the front of your Valve Index headset. It allows you to see the real world around you while you’re wearing your VR headset. This can be useful for finding your keyboard or mouse, or simply checking on your surroundings.

How to turn on the Valve Index Camera

To turn on the Valve Index Camera, simply put on your headset and press the button located on the bottom right-hand side of the headset. The camera will turn on automatically and display a view of your surroundings.

How to adjust camera settings

To adjust camera settings such as brightness and contrast, go to SteamVR Settings > Devices > Camera. Here, you can adjust settings such as brightness, contrast, saturation, and more.

Using the Passthrough feature

The Passthrough feature allows you to temporarily switch from VR mode to real world mode with just a click of a button.
